Summary The main reason why a objective metrics that can be widely used in today's 3D (3b) video quality assessment (vkd) processes is not yet developed is that the characteristics associated with the human vision system (i·gs) that creates the sense of 3b video perception in the spectator are less used together in these metrics. In light of this information, this study assessed the effects on 3b vkd of characteristics that are very related to i·gs, such as quantification parameters, contrast, structural characteristics and space resolution. When making these assessments, the 3b video display was used based on a colourful video + depth map, which is more advantageous than other 3b video display forms. While exploring the impact of the calculation parameter on 3b vkd, the colorful video and depth maps of 4 different 3b videos are coded with 5 different calculation parameters (25, 30, 35, 40 and 45) separately. The space resolutions of these coded videos were later brought to different sizes. The results were obtained with the help of the contrast and structural features measurement algorithms developed for each video obtained later. The results from the studies show that considering the calculation parameters, contrast, spatial resolution and structural characteristics information together, a very efficient 3b vkd metric can be created. Keywords: 3b video quality assessment, calculation parameters, contrast, structural characteristics and space resolution.
