Günce Filoloji ve Sosyal Bilimler Çalışmaları I
Nâzım Hikmet, who is known for his poetry in the literary world, produces pen products in different genres such as stories, novels and theatre. Among the genres he wrote, there are also articles that can be evaluated within the criticism genre. In addition, it is seen that he sometimes has a critical attitude in his verse texts, speeches, letters, even in his stories and novels. In his criticisms, he prefers to focus more on the people of art and their works and to evaluate the people and functions within the framework of socialist understandings. While he criticizes the poets and writers of previous generations, whom he finds distant from the reception of art, he prefers to display a praising and encouraging attitude about young writers and writers who are close to him. His criticisms expand to many poets and writers, from Mevlâna to Fuzulî, from Abdulhak Hâmit to Mehmet Akif, from Yakup Kadri to Ahmet Hâşim. Sait Faik is one of the names supported in the writings of Nâzım Hikmet, who developed a somewhat softer criticism against the younger generation of artists. While expressing that he did not like Sait Faik's works before, he later corrected his way of making positive evaluations about him. In this paper, the critical view of Nâzım Hikmet towards Sait Faik will be discussed.
