STATESMEN AND POLITICAL FIGURES IN FAKİR BAYKURT'S PARTRIDGE NOVEL
Fakir Baykurt, one of the leading names of Turkish literature in the Republican period, is known for his novel genre, although he also wrote works in other genres. The name Fakir Baykurt, which is generally reduced to a single genre and whose area of belonging is narrowed by being associated with that genre, is positioned in an even more special field as a Turkish village novelist. Fakir Baykurt, who stands out with both social and realistic codes in his novels due to the historical, political and social conditions of the period, writes novels that tend to this idea. Fakir Baykurt, who developed a unique understanding of the novel by arguing that a novel devoid of the reality of its own society cannot be a novel, is shaped around social realism, socialist perspective and current policies. Fakir Baykurt, who has not lost his recognition in every period until today and is one of the names that come to mind when it comes to village novels, successfully uses political figures in the plot of his novels. The author, who is essentially a master of language, successfully transfers the political figures and statesmen of the period to the fiction world of the novel while constructing the plot. His novels include the majority of statesmen who reigned during his time, especially Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey. Fakir Baykurt, who is also described as ideological in Turkish literature due to the political figures in his novels and the fact that politics is at the center of the plot, thus appears before the reader with both an intellectual and ideological identity. In this study, it will be related to the author's understanding of the novel, based on how politics is transferred to the fiction world of the novel in Fakir Baykurt's work Keklik. Based on the thoughts of Fakir Baykurt, a novelist/worker, on the art of the novel, the way in which statesmen and political figures appear in the novel Keklik will be focused on.
