The paper investigates the rupture phenomenon in resistant wires used in fuel-oil burner pre-heaters through analytical and numerical methods. The study models the fuel-oil burner and pre-heater, considering heat conduction, continuity equation, and fuel evaporation. Analytical and numerical calculations show that thermostat cut off function affects wire temperature exposure. Numerical simulations reveal the impact of thermostat sensing delay on overheating and wire rupture. Thermostat response delay leads to decreased thermal efficiency and increased risk of wire rupture.
