STEADY-STATE AND TRANSIENT ANALYSIS OF BRUSHLESS DIRECT CURRENT MOTOR UNDER FOUR-QUADRANT OPERATING CONDITIONS WITH FIELD-ORIENTED CONTROL
Brushless direct current (BLDC) motors are a widely preferred type of AC motor in applications requiring high performance, efficiency, and low cost. They offer advantages over conventional brushed DC motors and induction motors in terms of control, efficiency, performance, silence, size, and cost. Precise speed and torque control can be achieved when these motors are controlled by high-performance methods such as field-oriented control (FOC). In this study, the performance of the BLDC motor with the FOC method under variable load conditions in a wide speed range under steady-state and transient conditions is investigated in the simulation environment. The simulations are carried out in MATLAB/Simulink by considering the realistic conditions. According to the simulation results, it is shown that the BLDC motor shows high performance under steady-state and transient conditions with the FOC method.
