Energy is a basic requirement for every aspect of modern life and plays a major role in every sector, from industrial production to domestic use. The need for energy will continue to increase throughout life with technological developments. Coal, oil and natural gas, which are the fossil-based sources of energy, are in danger of depletion due to their non-renewable nature. Oil is an important economic resource of Batman and contributes significantly to the economy of the province. In addition to oil exploration and extraction activities, there are also oil refineries in Batman. These facilities process crude oil to produce petroleum products and meet the energy needs of the region. The oil industry in Batman is controversial due to its environmental and social impacts. Oil extraction and refinery. activities carry risks of environmental pollution. This risk is also present in other fossil-based energy sources. Using energy in the most efficient way and conducting related studies are among the popular topics in the world. The issue of energy efficiency in buildings is very important, especially considering that buildings consume a large part of the energy. Creating energy efficient designs by using energy in buildings in the minimum way will reduce the need for heating and cooling energy. The results of energy efficient designs for buildings will contribute to global energy efficiency and sustainable environmental impacts. There are many energy simulation software available for designing energy efficient buildings or making improvements to existing designs. In this study, total energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions as a result of combinations of regional natural stones used in the building envelope with appropriate insulation materials were calculated using the IES-VE (Integrated Environmental Solutions Virtual Environment) energy. simulation program. For the study, a 1+1 studio apartment was designed in the climatic conditions of Batman province. Adana limestone, Niğde limestone, Antep limestone, Osmaniye travertine, Kayseri travertine, Aksaray granite, Konya andesite and Osmaniye basalt were used as building materials. EPS, rock wool, XPS were used as insulation materials. The analysis values of the alternatives. created with combinations were compared and evaluated on the most suitable material combinations.
