The culture of a society is considered the mirror of that society and culture alters over time. Differences in the attitudes, behaviors, and thoughts of individuals in society lead to social alterations. These alterations are reflected in people, society, and the culture they create. Batman is a city with a culturally and artistically rich history, located in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Türkiye, in the middle of the region that is considered the cradle of civilization and also called the "Fertile Crescent." Batman is a geography where various cultural and ethnic groups live together with its historical heritage. For this reason, a rich cultural mosaic was formed by the combination of different cultural elements. The city of Batman attracts attention not only with its historical and natural beauties but also with its rich cultural and artistic heritage. However, there is no source with sufficient information and analysis in this field. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to analyze the cultural and artistic components of the city of Batman in depth and comprehend the effects of these components on the identity and social fabric of the city. In addition, it aims to reveal the potential of the city in the fields of culture and the arts and to provide a road map for the work to be done in these areas. Among the elements that shape the cultural structure of the city, ethnic diversity, local traditions, handicrafts, traditional crafts such as rug weaving, carpet weaving, coppersmithing, local dances, music, film festivals, painting, sculpture, and local cuisine have a significant place. These elements shape, color, strengthen the identity of the city, ensure unity and solidarity among the local people, and offer visitors a unique experience The impact of culture and art on society is crucial because it meets people's emotional, mental, and social needs. In this context, culture and art enable society to come together, communicate, and comprehend each other. Additionally, the power of art can serve as a catalyst for social alteration; artists raise awareness in society with their works, raise issues, and inspire alteration Culture and art also preserve and transmit the identity, values, and history of society. For these reasons, the impact of culture and art on society is a necessity because it enriches people's lives, brings them together, and leads them to progress. Qualitative research design and the technique of document analysis were utilized in this paper. The findings of the study reveal that Batman is a city that attracts attention with its rich cultural heritage, diverse art, and activities. It has a prominent place in the field of culture and art with its local folk dances, music, and talented artists. These elements shape the identity of the city and offer visitors a unique experience. Preserving the cultural fabric and belonging and transferring it to future generations is very crucial for the sustainability of Batman's cultural influences and heritage. Utilizing these riches in the field of tourism may contribute to the regional economy. Various events should be organized to protect and promote cultural heritage. And today's reflections of cultural influences should be kept alive through local festivals and events. The paper may contribute to the limited literature focusing on the culture. and art of the city of Batman, create a resource to comprehend the cultural and artistic texture of the city, and guide future researchers. It may go beyond existing studies, providing a more comprehensive analysis and contributing to a better comprehension of the city's cultural and artistic heritage. It may also provide practical guidance to academics, local governments, and cultural organizations by providing policy recommendations to support cultural and artistic activities in the city. As a result, in this way, a significant contribution may be made to the literature on the culture and art of the city of Batman.
