This research aims to evaluate articles on democracy and democracy education in Turkey. 29 articles were found in the field of democracy and democracy education in Turkey, written between 1998-2023. In the examination of the articles, the document review model, one of the qualitative research methods was used. The data obtained were analyzed using the content analysis method. The primary aim of this study, which is based on democracy and democracy education in Turkey, is to examine some of the research conducted in this direction in our country and to contribute to the literature by evaluating the results. Students' awareness of their fundamental rights and freedom is one of the most basic awarenesses as citizens. One of the first steps in meeting this basic needs and enabling the formation of this awareness can be associated with the democracy education received throughout the school life. Democracy education, which concerns the education policies created by the ministry in general and the 58 school management-teacher-parent approach triangle in particular, continues to exist today, especially after the Republic Period. Although democracy education is a very comprehensive subject in our country, the focus which has been on studies based on teachers' attitudes towards this subject, the impact of curriculum, the approach of students at various levels within this framework and the methods used in this context, and the scope of the subject has been narrowed. According to the results obtained from these studies, point such as discussing teacher competence in order to develop democracy awareness in Turkey, narrative techniques such as fairy tales can be evaluated for students at pre-school and primary school level, different approaches such as school assemblies can be developed at high school level, and the importance of the impact of education policies are underlined. In this context, solutions have been offered to the deficiencies such as improving the curriculum for democracy education, following current methods of teaching concept of democracy to students, and providing more support for teacher training.
