The cosmetics industry is a dynamic and rapidly growing sector that has been significantly influenced by evolving and advancing technologies in recent years. Innovations in this sector have accelerated new product development processes and led to a substantial increase in the diversity of skincare cosmetic products. Today, skincare cosmetics have become an indispensable choice for consumers aiming to achieve beautiful and healthy skin. These products, ranging from cleansers, toners, exfoliants, masks, moisturizers, eye care products, neck creams, ampoules, to serums, are continually diversifying to meet consumer expectations and needs. Women’s choices of cosmetic products, their usage habits, and expectations from these products vary according to their age and generational characteristics. Notably, there are significant differences in perceptions and usage habits related to skincare cosmetics among generations. Identifying these generational differences is critical for understanding the future development directions of the sector and better meeting consumer expectations. The aim of this study is to identify the factors influencing women's skincare cosmetic product usage habits and their product selection. Employing a descriptive research method, a survey was designed to determine the habits of X, Y, and Z generations regarding the acquisition and use of skincare products, their expectations from these products, and their post-use experiences. This survey was administered to 457 women in Ankara, selected through the convenience sampling method, and necessary statistical analyses were conducted. The Pearson Chi-Square (χ2) statistical analysis was used to compare the data across groups. The Chi-Square test is employed to determine whether the relationship between two variables is statistically significant. Based on the data obtained from the analyses, it was concluded that the most preferred cosmetic products among women from the X, Y, and Z generations are moisturizers and sunscreens.
