Family sense of belonging is explained as the individual's feeling of belonging to his/her family. When an individual feels valued, understood, appreciated, peaceful, etc. within the family, it shows that the level of family sense of belonging is high. Being hopeful, on the other hand, indicates that the individual has positive feelings about his/her present and future life. Hopeful individuals tend to exhibit a positive perspective on life in the face of both positive and negative life experiences. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between family sense of belonging and hope levels. In addition, it is examined whether family sense of belonging and hope levels differ according to the groups. The research was conducted in relational survey model. The population of the research consists of adult individuals. The research group consists of 120 adults (71 women and 49 men) from the central districts of Van, Muş, Antalya and Istanbul provinces. 75% of the participants were single, 24.2% were married and 0.8% were divorced. Of the participants' parents, 85% were married, 11.7% were deceased and 3.3% were divorced. 86.7% of the participants were in the middle socio-economic level and their average age was 27.3 years. Personal Information Form, Family Sense of Belonging Scale and Trait Hope Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. The research data was collected online. Prior to analysis, the data were examined to determine if they met the assumptions of normality and homogeneity, and it was determined that these assumptions were met. It was then decided to conduct the analysis using parametric tests. Pearson correlation test and independent groups t-test were used to analyze the data. As a result of the analyses, statistically significant and middle positive relationships were found between the total score of family sense of belonging and its subdimensions and the total score of hope and its subdimensions. In addition, no significant difference was found in the total score of family sense of belonging and subdimensions of family sense of belonging and sense of self belonging according to gender and marital status groups. In addition, while no difference was found by marital status on the overall hope score and the alternative ways of thinking and activist ways of thinking subdimensions, a gender difference was found on the alternative ways of thinking sub-dimension. Accordingly, it was found that the scores of males were significantly higher than those of females in the sub-dimension of alternative ways of thinking. The results were discussed in light of the literature, and several suggestions were made to the researchers for future research.
