Most books on the theme of communication begin with the emphasis that humans are social beings. Humans are considered social beings from the moment they are born, and the most obvious reflection of this sociality is through communication. Language is among the most important means of communication for humans. The language development process that begins in the womb is of critical importance, especially in the early years of life. In the 0-6 age range, when the development process is sensitive and delicate, the foundations for the later years of life are formed, and the developmental skills acquired during this period leave deep traces in the following developmental periods. Therefore, supporting language development during this period becomes an important issue, and language development becomes a research topic for many studies. In this study, it was aimed to examine postgraduate theses covering language development between the years 1980-2024. The screening method was used in the research designed in the qualitative research model. In this direction, 127 studies in the Council of Higher Education Presidency Thesis Center (YÖKTEZ) were reached by searching with the keyword "language development". However, 4 of the studies reached were not included in the study because they did not have an abstract section or text access. In this direction, a total of 123 theses were examined and the study was carried out. The studies obtained were examined with the document analysis method and were classified and evaluated according to the years in which the studies were conducted, thesis type, language, university, institute type, department, study group, research model and thesis topics. The obtained data were coded using the SPSS package program. After the coding was completed, the percentage and frequency levels of the results were determined and added to the findings by tabulating. As a result, it was concluded that the most studies were carried out in 2021, mostly as master's theses, the studies were carried out in Turkish, the studies were mainly conducted at Hacettepe University, studies were also carried out in the Department of Basic Education/Preschool Teaching and the Institute of Social Sciences, the participants were mostly children in the preschool period (0-7 years old), the research was carried out in the quantitative research model as a method, and the studies were mostly included in the "Education and Training" category in the subject category. In the light of the information obtained as a result of the research, suggestions were presented to researchers and experts working in the field.
