In this study, the psychoeducational program based on social-cognitive career theory is due to the growth in the professional development level of 10th grade high school students. In this study, a semi-selected model with an unequal control group was used. The participants of the research consist of 28 science high school students who continue their education in a province in the Eastern Anatolia Region. While the experimental group consists of 14 students, 5 boys and 9 girls, the control group consists of 14 students, 6 boys and 8 girls. While selecting the researcher's participants, the students with the lowest scores on the professional maturity scale were ranked and experimental-control groups were created by ensuring that the students had equal scores. The participation of the participants in the study was voluntary and the students' parents were informed about the study through parental consent petitions.During the implementation phase of the research, a 9-week psychoeducation program prepared by the researcher was used. While preparing the content of the psychoeducation program, the principles of social cognitive career theory in career development were taken as basis. The content of the program included activities prepared by the researcher himself or from other sources, and the program was prepared by the researcher. The program was tried to be implemented weekly and the implementation was completed within two months.During the application, all participants attended the sessions. Notes were taken after each application. Since data loss occurred as a result of the pre-test of one student in the experimental group, the analysis results were made with 27 participants. The Career Maturity Scale developed by Kuzgun and Bacanlı (1996) was used in the research. Personal Information Form created by the researcher was used for the demographic information of the participants. The data obtained was analyzed with SPSS 27. Mann-Whitney U test was performed to examine the relationship between the pre-test scores of the experimental and control groups and no statistically significant difference was found between the pre-test scores.According to the findings, although the posttest mean scores of the experimental group were higher than the pretest mean scores, it was found that this difference was not statistically significant. The pre-test and post-test career maturity scores of the experimental and control groups were compared with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and it was seen that there was no significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental-control groups. Based on the findings of this study, it is aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of similar psychoeducational studies, to provide suggestions to researchers who will work in this field, and to enable the development of professional maturity of high school students in schools.
