The release of plastic waste from production facilities, hospitals, homes and offices into nature has increased with the increased in the use of polymeric materials all over the world. Releasing plastic waste in nature causes soil and water pollution and disrupts the balance of the ecological system by mixing with the food chain. When plastic waste is not recycled, it also harms the national economy. So, plastic recycling studies have accelerated in recent years. In this paper, the hinge plates used in refrigerators were produced by injection molding using recycled polymer-added ABS. 20% recycled polymer added raw material was used during production and the effect of recycled polymer addition on the physical and mechanical properties of the product was investigated in relation to the microstructure. When the colors and brightness of products made of standard ABS and ABS containing recycled polymer additive were compared with measuring devices and visual inspection, it was determined that these products could be used interchangeably. When the tensile test results of products made from two different polymers were examined, it was determined that the addition of recycled polymer caused a slight decrease in tensile strength and an approximately 3-fold increase in elongation at break. The use of 20% recycled polymer added ABS raw material in the production of hinge bearings used in refrigerators is suitable in terms of the physical and mechanical performance of the product.
