Özet:
(AI):
AISI 52100 Steel material is widely used in industry especially due to its hardenability and wear resistance. However, the machinability of these materials is more difficult. In recent years, many important studies have been carried out on the machinability of this material. AISI 52100 Steels can have different hardness values. In this experimental study, the machinability of AISI 52100 Steel material with two different hardness values was compared. It was aimed to investigate the effects of different cutting parameters on vibration and power consumption. Thus, the results obtained at 3 different cutting depths, 3 different cutting speeds and 3 different feed values were compared. Since the breaking strength increased with increasing hardness value, more energy was needed to break the chip. Since breaking the chip became more difficult with increasing hardness value, vibration increased. In addition, since the cutting force increased with increasing feed value and cutting depth, power consumption and vibration value increased. There is a direct relationship between the hardness of the workpiece, increasing feed rate and cutting depth, and vibration and power consumption. As a result, lower feed and cutting depths can be preferred despite the increased hardness value in order not to increase the vibration value excessively. In addition, it was observed that there was a positive correlation between vibration and power consumption for AISI 52100 Steel material.
