Özet:
(AI):
This study presents a scientometric review of the literature on sexually transmitted diseases and cervical cancer. It includes an evaluation of human papillomavirus (HPV), HPV vaccine, and Pap smear test. The data of this study were obtained from the Web of Science, PubMed, JSTOR, and Google Scholar database to apply scientometric analysis. The search process followed the steps of a structured systematic review to identify articles related to cervical cancer, HPV and their sexually transmitted diseases concept, which were collected and analysed with the help of VOSviewer. After applying the inclusion and exclusion filters using the above formula, 354 articles were reached in the last five years (2020-2024). In these articles, the words in which these three concepts were used together directly or indirectly were identified. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that 94 of 183 words were used and associated at least 3 times. The scientometrical analysis shows that the researches consist of five clusters. Despite a global trend towards widespread uptake of HPV vaccination and smear testing, there are significant inequalities in access to these tests, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Studies investigating the combined effects of HPV vaccination and screening interventions suggest that both tactics can be extremely important in reducing the incidence of cervical cancer. It also underlines that there are studies that show that sexually transmitted diseases are linked to cervical cancer and that young people in particular need to be informed about this topic.
