Özet:
(AI):
Higher education institutions are constantly faced with challenges in the field of cyber security within an environment where information technology is highly developed. These challenges become even more apparent due to the way university and academic environment interacts with, which includes academic and administrative staff, and students as well. In this respect, in a university environment it is noticed a very large number of users who generally access services, such as e-mail accesses information and communication systems related to the registration of subjects, timetables, information on grades and/or evaluations, or other services offered on the website etc. This high number of users performs a continuous exchange of data with the university all the time. University in itself is obliged to protect these data volume from unauthorized access, as they mainly include personal information of students, scientific research, financial data, projects, etc. In this optic, our study aims to identify and analyze the main cyber security challenges faced by higher education institutions by focusing on a security analysis of the website, as the first element we face when looking for a university. In this study, we will also take note of the possible types of attacks that can affect these services. Through a deep analysis of the problems that will appear during the vulnerable scanning of these systems, the paper will also explore the best strategies and practices for improving the cyber security of these institutions. An important factor to consider is the importance of training and awareness of staff and students, as well as the possibility of implementing advanced security policies and technologies.
