As we are today in the technology age, we need to integrate technological possibilities with education and take advantage of technology in teaching.Stories, one of the oldest and most reliable educational tools in this regard, continues their educational functions in the digital age with digital stories, a 2.5-3-minute narrative form consisting of a combination of digital content such as image, audio, music and video. This study aims to investigate the impact of the learning environment supported by digital stories on the student’s success and control focus in the social information course. In the study, a semi-experienced model has been used with a combined pattern with a predest-sontest control group. The research work group is 42 students in the 4th grade of a state school located in the central district of Rize in the 2016-2017 educational year. The study used a typical case sample to determine the school to be applied. The independent variable of this study is the teaching activities supported by digital stories; and the dependent variables are determined as the student’s success and control center. As a result of the pre-test, the 4 / a and 4 / b branches were found to be equal to each other, the 4 / a class (20 students) experiment; the 4 / b class (22 students) was selected as a control group. The research has found that teaching with digital stories is more effective in ensuring that students are innerly controlled.Students of the experiment group, which also included events supported by digital stories, were more successful in the social information course than students in the other group.Accordingly, the teaching of social information supported by digital stories is an application to a significant level of influence in increasing the internal control of students’ learning levels. In the framework of these findings, it has been pointed out that practitioners working at the basic education level should use more teaching design with a learning model supported by digital stories. In addition, the number of studies that study students’ critical thinking, overall creative thinking levels, field-related creativity levels and other demographic characteristics of applications supported by digital stories, such as the current research, should be increased.
