Bu çalışmanın amacı ilköğretim matematik öğretmeni adaylarının lisans eğitimleri boyunca kendilerinde stres neden olan faktörlerin belirlenmesidir. Araştırmada deneysel olmayan araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesinde yer alan bir devlet üniversitesinin ilköğretim matematik öğretmenliği bölümüne devam eden farklı sınıf seviyelerinde okuyan 58 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan ve iki bölümden oluşan form aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Formun birinci bölümünde katılımcılara ait kişisel bilgiler, ikinci bölümde ise katılımcıların kendilerinde oluşan stresin kaynaklarını tespit amacıyla hazırlanmış açık uçlu sorular bulunmaktadır. Öğretmen adaylarının görüşleri incelenmiş, belirttikleri stres faktörleri kodlanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesi ve yorumlanmasında Dirlikli ve Akgün (2015) tarafından oluşturulan temalar temel alınmış, bazı yeni kodlar ilave edilerek betimsel analiz yönteminden faydalanılmıştır. İlköğretim matematik öğretmeni adaylarının stres kaynakları çeşitlilik göstermekle beraber yapılan analizler sonucunda üniversite okudukları şehir, üniversite ortamı, eğitim öğretim faaliyetleri, kişisel özellikler, gelecek ve ekonomik sebepler olmak üzere 6 tema altında gruplandırılmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının belirttikleri stres kaynakları göz önüne alındığında her kategoride çok sayıda faktörün bulunması, stres kaynaklarının çeşitlilik göstermesi ilköğretim matematik öğretmeni adaylarının ciddi oranda stres yaşadıklarını göstermektedir.
