As a result of technological developments, increasing conditions of competition and globalization, the rapidly changing and developing world can not be adapted only by material resources and by the institutions that provide them.It is the most important element that must be focused on the material resources before.In both the private sector and the public sector, employees are the most important element in achieving the objectives of the institutions.Therefore, a lot of research has been done on the issues of business characteristics, organizational commitment and business satisfaction.The purpose of this study is to reveal the work characteristics and the impact of organizational commitment on work satisfaction.The universe of research, in Zonguldak province, is all the institutions and organizations that serve the maritime sector.The survey method was used to obtain data in the research.The work satisfaction levels of the researchers are based on the short form of the minnesota and the satisfaction scale, the organizational commitment levels are based on the three-dimensional organizational commitment scale developed by Meyer and Allen, and the work characteristics characteristics are measured on the basis of the work diagnostics survey designed by hackman and oldham in 1974 to measure the variables in the model of the commitment characteristics.The data obtained was analyzed using the statistical analysis program spss 16.00 in the study found whether the demographic characteristics of employers showed a difference in employment satisfaction.In addition, when the regression results are studied, it is determined that the concept of business characteristics has no meaningful impact on business satisfaction, while the concept of organizational commitment has a meaningful and highly positive relationship on business satisfaction.
