Freedom is a concept that represents human will.The intellectual and other superior characteristics of man are revealed only in the environment of freedom.In a environment where man is not free and cannot use his will, he can neither discover nor develop himself.There are many areas of freedom.One of the areas of freedom is the freedom of religion and conscience.In this field, the freedom of man is mediated by his power in religious and moral life.But the freedom of religion and conscience should not be seen as a practice of human rights that regulate the relations between the state and citizens.Especially in the age in which we are, freedom of religion and conscience is closely concerned with individuals and communities.That’s why the issue draws attention to many areas in social sciences.But religion and freedom of conscience are closely related to the field of religious education as a subject of education.Themes such as pluralism, intercultural religious education, co-life, which have been focused on important research in the field of religious education in recent years are primarily related to religion and freedom of conscience.In today’s world, terror, violence, and a significant part of self-excluding and exclusive formations, which have become the greatest problem of mankind, are based on their views on religious and religious values.In this case, it is expected that educational activities on the scope, necessity and importance of religious and conscientious freedom will create awareness and awareness of the issues concerned.This research aims to bring the scope of religion and freedom of conscience, the main problems, from religious sources, historical practices and current perspectives, to the religious education environment.Keywords: religion education, freedom, religion and freedom of conscience, religion and freedom of conscience education
