In many events related to daily life, the concepts of possibility are encountered and these concepts are often used.Therefore, the possibility plays an effective role in the decisions we make in our real life and in the interpretation of the events around us.It is important that the concepts of possibility, which are an important part of our daily life, are effectively transferred to the learning environments.The most important task in this process lies to the teachers of mathematics.The aim of this research is to determine the views of high school and high school math teachers on the possibility.For this purpose, the teachers’ opinions on the possibility and potential thinking and the contribution of the subject of possibility to the teaching of mathematics have been studied.The research participants consist of a total of 25 mathematics teachers, including 13 high schools and 12 high schools in a province center located in the south-eastern Anatolia region.The research is carried out by the research method and the data is collected using a semi-built interview technique.The data obtained was analyzed through the content analysis method.According to the results obtained, the teachers have determined that they think of the possibility as situations encountered in everyday life, and that they consider the possibility thinking as an assessment of the possibilities.It is found that teachers perceive the possibility thinking as evaluating the possibilities in situations encountered in daily life.Teachers have often linked their opinions about the subject of the possibility to their daily life.It can be said that teachers do not evaluate the possibility and the possibility of thinking independently of the social environment they experience.They also stated that probability teaching improves students’ thinking skills such as judgment, probability thinking, analytical-rational thinking and facilitates students’ lives because it is frequently used in everyday life.According to the opinions of teachers, the possibility teaching can be conducted in a way related to daily life.Keywords: Opportunity, Mathematics Teachers, Teacher Opinions.* This study covers a part of the first author's doctoral thesis, entitled "Evaluation of the possibility teaching-learning process based on the opinions of mathematical teachers."
