The article examines the names of the people who protect children from diseases, trouble and death in the Tatar culture. The antroponic type is emphasized: names that are not related to the ceremony and names historically associated with the acts of the ritual. The first kind of names are often made up of names aimed at stoping death, while the second kind of names are associated with the rituals of re-name or selling the child. These names are part of the traditional Tatar culture and preserve the century cultural heritage of the people. and a)
