Sadness is one of the basic feelings that has the potential to clearly see what happens in our lives, make the right decisions and prevent our life plans.Thus, although it is not possible to completely destroy it, it is necessary to be controlled in order to maintain a healthy and quality life.In the Islamic philosophy, human happiness and therefore mental health hold an important place.With the obstacle to happiness and competence, it is also possible to see that many Islamic thinkers, starting with the first Islamic philosopher kindî, are set in two separate lines of sadness in some of their works.One of these is the line of sadness, which is addressed in the moral books in the philosophical line, especially from kindî to kindî; the line of sadness, which is approaching as a "patological feeling" that man hears and has to get rid of because of worldwide losses, and which must even be treated.The other is the line in which the sadness is discussed in the tasavvuf books; more than the fear of the Hereafter or the failure to accomplish a good work, it is a "fightful and positive feeling."Our study focuses primarily on the conceptual dimension of the subject, taking into account the approaches of the Islamic philosophers, the definition of sadness was given.Secondly, the causes and causes of the sadness were revealed.In the final phase, the measures for each reason were evaluated, and the study concluded that all these measures were formed in the mind, morality and thought axis, that the proper use of mind was effective in preventing sadness, eliminating its causes, reducing sadness and its damage.Analysis, synthesis and evaluation methods have been used.
