The center of the studies on the relationship between growth and the environment is the hypothesis of the environmental kuznets curve. The curve of the kuznets is linked to the hypothesis of pollution shelter. As a result, higher-income developed countries are moving their polluting industries to less-income countries, while developed countries are turning to cleaner sectors and obtaining their products in the dirty sectors through foreign trade. In this context, the study, by analyzing the asymmetrical causes of growth, trade and environmental interactions between 1990 and 2017 for the developed and developing countries selected, finds that the pollution refuge hypothesis that developed countries export to developing countries is valid.
