Prof. Dr. nil duban 155 summarizes the economic globalization process continues, whereas developed countries are making more investments in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (stem). The fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics are taught in an integrated way to the stem applications, the art size is also added to the field of the sense of the steam. It is believed that with the steam approach, art integration can provide a deeper understanding between disciplines, motivate students and enhance their knowledge and skills in multiple fields of content. In this context, it is important to determine the effects of steam applications on students’ cognitive skills. The main objective of this study is to determine the impact of the science course in which steam applications are carried out on the basic skills levels of primary school 3rd grade students. In this study, a part of the semi-experienced dimension of a research used by the karma method is presented. The research work group, 2016-2017 educational year, is formed by third-class students who are studying at the attorc school of the Afyonkarahisar or Shepherds. The pre-application experiment and control groups were developed by padilla, cronin and twiest (1985) and adapted to the Turkish by aydoğdu and karakuş (2015) as the "basic skill scale (tbö)" pre-test.Seven weeks later, the skill scales were applied to both groups this time as a final test. The data obtained was analyzed through the statistical package program in the computer environment. The normal test results showed normal distribution of data. The analysis resulted in statistically significant differences in the benefit of the experiment group. In light of these findings, steam practices have been found to have a positive impact on the basic scientific process skills of third-class students. Keywords: steam, steam education, primary school students, basic skills. In today’s world, leadership in economic success, technological development and the diversity of labour is becoming more and more important. With these developments in the world, the competition of innovation between countries is increasing. In addition to all these industrial and technological developments, most countries need some reforms in their educational policies. The countries make different plans to improve the quality of education in all sectors of the society to improve the quality of education and implement different programs. In other words, the complexity of today’s world requires all people to be equipped with a new set of basic knowledge and skills to adapt to real life conditions by developing their 21st century skills to solve, collect and evaluate difficult problems (creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, etc.).andIn the light of this information, this need has led the countries to pay attention to science, innovation and engineering. This point has gained importance, first of all, in teaching and spreading engineering education in primary and secondary schools (tippet, and milford, 2017).In addition to the discussion of engineering education and application in schools, it is believed that engineering will create a very good environment for mathematics, science and technology education stem (science, technology, engineering and 154 shepherds ataturk i·lckoulu,
