The goal was to increase the rapid growth of the world’s population after the second half of the 20th century, and to increase the use of oxygen, water, food and energy resources in the living environment. This increase has also led to changes that have affected the entire ecosystem. The changes in the ecosystem, consumption, which is one of the elements of capitalism, have increased the drive to possess many things beyond the needs of people, and therefore, differences have begun to be observed in individuals’ consumption-oriented tendencies. These trends have driven the consumption behaviors and consumption habits in the ecosystem. The fact that the human element, part of the ecosystem, sees consumption behaviors as a necessity of modern life, has normalized consumption behaviors and resulted in the emergence of unconscious consumption communities that are exaggerated in today’s social life.Consumer communities’ unconscious and excessive use multiplies waste, reduces natural resources and reaches harmful dimensions to animals. In short, the environment is heavily wounded by man's repair as a result of unconscious actions (Ceken and the Brave, 2018;.The human being, which is part of the ecosystem, must present actions on sustainable consumption by avoiding actions that will negatively affect the resources that will meet the needs of future generations (raven, etc., 2012).Such a approach means the abandonment of excessive consumption behaviors and the adoption of a sustainable consumption concept (cloud, etc., 2017;.While most communities aim to higher living standards for both now and future generations, they aim to protect and improve the environment (buchdhl and raper, 1998).This goal requires individuals to adopt a sustainable lifestyle.Adopting sustainable consumption behaviors as a lifestyle is important for today’s and future generations to be in a more viable environment. The sustainability of the environment depends on the fact that human behavior is in a specific ethical framework.Though research on sustainable consumption has a high level of awareness on topics such as environmental sensitivity, interest in ecological products, supporting the local economy, this awareness is not reflected by consumers in the same proportion in daily habits and behaviors (vermeir and verbeke, 2006).Individuals are not born to have a consciousness in the environment. This consciousness is later obtained. It is therefore necessary to give individuals a positive attitude towards the environment from the younger age.In the socialization of children as a conscious sustainable producer and consumer, families and teachers have significant responsibilities (herremans and reid, 2002).Teachers who will be effective in achieving children’s positive sustainable consumption behavior should first determine the levels of sustainable consumption behavior in the context of environmental ethics and analyze the size of the need.In this scope, the research aimed at studying the sustainable consumption behaviors and levels of environmental ethics awareness of teachers candidates. In accordance with the purpose of the research, the following questions were sought to be answered: 1.Is there a meaningful relationship between sustainable consumer behavior and environmental ethics awareness? Is sustainable consumption behavior of individuals a meaningful promoter of environmental ethics awareness? In method research, a relative research model from quantitative methods has been used to study the relationship between sustainable consumption behaviors and environmental ethics awareness of teachers candidates. This model covers studies in which the relationship between two or more variables is studied in any way without any interference with these variables. In such a model, the relationships between the variables can be studied by starting from one of the variables and focusing on the other (fraenkel vd., 2012).Sustainable consumption behavior is the substantial variable of this research, and environmental ethics consciousness is the substantial variable of the research. The study group included 266 teachers candidates who studied in the basic education department of a state university-related educational faculty.Of the participants with an average age of 21.56±2.28, 79.3 percent (n=211) are women and 20.7 percent (n=55) are men.62.8% of participants (n=167) study in the field of pre-school education, while 37.2% (n=99) study in the field of class education.Data collection tools have been used in two different scales, the sustainable consumption behavior scale and the environmental ethics awareness scale, to collect research data. The scale of sustainable consumption behavior, which is born in order to evaluate the sustainable consumption behavior of individuals, etc.It was developed by 2015.The scale consisting of a total of four dimensions, including environmental sensitivity, unnecessary purchase, savings and re-use, contains 17 items and with a rating of 5 points. The goal was to increase the rapid growth of the world’s population after the second half of the 20th century,
