They contain lipid, protein, and carbohydrates which can be converted into biofuels. Additionally, microalgae can produce pigments and molecules that have applications in the food and supplement industries. Cultivating microalgae requires specific environmental conditions like temperature, pH, and light intensity. They can grow under extreme conditions and be used for bioenergy production, particularly in bio-diesel production through transesterification reactions.
