Information and communication technologies have revolutionized the acquisition and dissemination of information. People have become the source of information, especially with the concept of web 2.0 introducing social media into our lives. This resource may not always provide accurate and complete information. Messages spread by personas designed for social media can sometimes be used deliberately for malicious purposes. Incorrect health information spread, especially in cases such as pandemics, may cause many people to lose their lives. Infodemiology, which examines the creation and sharing of false health information with information communication tools, is a discipline studied under epidemiology, one of the digitized health sciences. While 31,000 results are listed in a simple “infodemiology” search via Google Scholar, the fact that only 33 results are presented in the Turkish “infodemiology” search can be considered as clear evidence that Turkish literature needs to be developed in this area. Whereas it was found that the publications in English examine the infodemiology of diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, cancer, multiple sclerosis, Turkish publications mostly focus on the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to develop this limited resource, which is listed in search engines, that is the primary source of people who are educated in the field of Health Sciences, the current situation should be examined first. The problem of this study is to analyze the Turkish articles obtained as a result of the scanning using qualitative data analysis and to describe the literature published in our language.
