Cesarean section rates around the world vary from country to country. However, regardless of the rate of occurrence, it is an undeniable fact that cesarean births are among the important operations. However, the critical part of cesarean operations is determining the type of anesthesia to be applied. Correct prioritization of the factors used in determining the type of anesthesia will contribute greatly to the healthy completion of the process, taking into account the safety and health of both the mother and the baby. On the other hand, information systems have serious potential for anesthetists to make data-based decisions. In this study, it was aimed to prioritize the factors that are effective in determining the anesthesia method used in cesarean births with fuzzy AHP, a multi-criteria decision support approach. As a result of the evaluation made by three expert anesthesiologists, it was determined that the most important factor in determining the type of anesthesia was “spinal anesthesia by anesthesiologist selection”. This factor was followed by the factors “Laboratory values are suitable for spinal anesthesia” and “The patient prefers general anesthesia”. Additionally, when evaluated in terms of priority, the factors Mallampati, Weight, Number of cesarean, Previous type of anesthesia and Previous Surgery were at the bottom.
