HEALTH WITH GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: EXPLORING TRANSFORMATIVE POTENTIAL

Generative artificial intelligence (GPT) emerged as an artificial intelligence technology characterized by advanced productive models developed by the OpenAI company and reached unexpected popularity. It quickly gained many users, causing a sensation among the public and medical professionals alike. The easy use of ChatGPT, a chatbot research project or natural language processing (NLP) product, has a significant impact on this situation. This situation attracts the attention of experts working in different fields, especially health. Based on the innovations brought about by previous artificial intelligence applications in the health field, GPT technology has the potential to revolutionize healthcare. To this end, we aim to comprehensively understand the transformative potential of GPT in various health-related fields. The capabilities of GPT in areas such as data generation, clinical decision support, patient engagement, and personalized medicine will be examined. In addition, the difficulties encountered in integrating GPT into health services will be discussed, and the importance of a responsible approach will be emphasized to ensure its ethical and practical use. This study presents a systematic review of existing publications on using ChatGPT in healthcare. It will explain the “status” of ChatGPT in medical applications for general readers, healthcare professionals, and NLP scientists. It is a valuable resource for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers seeking improved health outcomes and innovative health solutions using GPT in healthcare.
