Özet Tâcüddîn es-Sübkî (ö. 771/1370), aklî ve naklî ilimlerde ortaya koyduğu önemli eserlerle kendini ispatlamış Eş'ari geleneğe mensup önemli bir ilim adamıdır. Farklı alanlarda eserler kaleme alan Sübkî'nin kelâm ile ilgili es-Seyfü'l-Meşhûr fî Şerḥi ʿAḳīdeti Ebî Manṣûr, el-Ḳaṣîdetü'n-Nûniyye fi'l-ʿAḳīde, Kavâʿidü'd-Dîn ve ʿUmdetü'l-Muvaḥḥidîn adındaki müstakil eserleri vardır. Bununla beraber Ṭabaḳātü'ş-Şâfiʿiyyeti'l-Kübrâ adlı eserinde de itikadî görüşlere yer vermektedir. Öte yandan Sübkî'nin, özellikle Horasan ve Maveraünnehir bölgelerinde Ehl-i Sünnet'in iki önemli itikadî mezhebi Eş'ârîler ve Hanefîler/Mâtûrîdîler arasında yaşanan ihtilafların giderilmesi ve gerilen ilişkilerin yeniden onarılması adına gösterdiği çabalar takdire şayandır. Kendisi bu alanda uzlaşıcı kimliğiyle öne çıkmıştır. Bu çabalarının en bariz örneği, Eş'arî ve Hanefî/Mâtûrîdî mezheplerinin görüşlerini uzlaştırmaya çalıştığı es-Seyfü'l-Meşhûr fî Şerḥi ʿAḳīdeti Ebî Manṣûr adlı eseridir. El-Ḳaṣîdetü'n-Nûniyyefi'l-ʿAḳīde adlı eserinde de bu hususa değinen Sübkî, Eş'ârîler ile Hanefîler/Mâtûrîdîler arasında sadece altı meselede ihtilâf bulunduğunu kaydeder.
