The concept of politics is not just a matter of elections, nor does it mean discussion or conflict between opposite poles. Within the understanding of a modern society, people with all their differences living together in peace and trying to meet their needs without exceeding democratic boundaries can be made possible by having certain levels of political consciousness, political knowledge and political literacy. Increasing world population and technological developments increase the need for political science. In addition, it is seen that the level of political literacy increases in societies with high levels of education. Social studies course appears as the most suitable curriculum for providing political literacy, political knowledge and political awareness. The aim of this study is to evaluate the place and importance of Political Science within the Social Studies disciplines within the scope of the social studies curriculum. For this purpose, the 2024 Social Studies curriculum was examined at all grade levels in terms of general and specific objectives, learning areas, achievements, values, skills and literacies. This research was conducted by document review method in accordance with the qualitative research approach. As a result of the research, it was concluded that Political Science and Social Studies, which are among the disciplines of Social Studies, complement each other in raising a good and active citizen.
