STUDENTS’ PERSPECTIVES ON THE USE OF DIGITAL GAMES IN ENHANCING VOCABULARY LEARNING: A STUDY AT SAI GON UNIVERSITY

Digital technology plays an important role in language learning, and using digital games to improve vocabulary is becoming increasingly common. This study investigates students' perspectives at Sai Gon University on using digital games for vocabulary learning. A quantitative approach was employed, with a survey questionnaire completed by 37 secondyear English majors. The survey primarily focused on the benefits and challenges of using digital games for vocabulary acquisition. The results show that students find digital games enjoyable and more effective to remember than only reading words from textbooks. However, challenges such as time limits and the mismatch between games and learning contents were also mentioned. The findings suggest that digital games can be a useful tool alongside traditional learning methods to enhance vocabulary. Therefore, this study offers suggestions for integrating digital games into English teaching to help students achieve vocabulary acquisition.
