Summary German from Ottoman to today has a historic development process of teaching as a foreign language. In this process of development, the books written in this field before the literary revolution, the studies on the methods and techniques followed in the books are not enough to be lost. The studies in this field will keep the light on the historic development of the teaching process of German as a foreign language. With the evaluation of the works published in the past, the methods and techniques followed in these works – which we do not know very much today – a more effective and efficient way in the teaching of foreign languages is opened. The assessments made on the German teaching before the literary revolution are not enough to say.In this study with the aim of illuminating the present with the light of the past, the method of document examination was used. The Turkish-German edition published in Istanbul in 1917 by m. süchdi was evaluated with the title work. The first 50 pages of the work, which has 85 pages, are dedicated to the word teaching. After the word teaching, the daily life includes speaking texts according to the characteristics of the target audience. The small size of the work is published in a page in German, and the other page in Turkish. The work is original because it is aimed at developing a single language skills - speaking. It is believed that by the assessment of this work in our country the German will contribute a bit to the historical development process. The teaching of German as a foreign language from the Ottoman to the present has a historical development process. In this process of development, books written in this field before the letter revolution and the methods and techniques followed in the books are almost negligible.studies in this area will shed light on the historical development of German as a foreign.Dr. Mersin University Education Faculty Turkish Education Department, nksahbaz@mersin.edu.tr 2nd international mersi·n symposium-2.International Mersin Symposium, 23-25 May 2019, Mersin
