Over the years, many disciplines have done a lot of research on climate and today are also studying the climate and the systems that make it through a variety of calculations. The influence of climate change and the potential consequences are among the major environmental problems. The drought, which is among the concrete consequences of climate change, can be more dangerous than many other natural disasters. It is necessary to be continuously monitored because drought occurs slower than other natural disasters and its effects last longer.Parallel to the developments in today’s technology, the use of various spatial and statistical tools can determine the size, frequency and impact area of drought. In recent years, many countries have made serious investments in early warning systems for natural disasters.28 of the 31 natural disasters worldwide are meteorological disasters. The varieties and importance of these catastrophes differ from region to region, but in Turkey, especially in the Mediterranean region, drought takes the first place. The Silifke, which is defined as the work area, is also located in the adana area of the Mediterranean region. This is one of the sensitive areas to drought. The winter is warm, wet and rain, and the summer is warm and dry, typical Mediterranean climate dominates. This study determined the climate type according to the thornthwaite climate classification method in the 1970-2010 meteorological measurement period. The linear regression model was then used to determine the possible course of temperature and rainfall, the standard rain index was used to reveal the drought periods.According to the study, a positive trend has been observed in rainfall.According to the standardized rain index results, the dryest year during the measurement period was 1999 and 2001 was identified as the year with severe rainfall.Abstract 1 Prof. Dr. I am a member of the university, the Faculty of Literature, mkarabulut@ksu.edu.tr.I am a student of the university, I am a student of the university, I am a student of the university, I am a student of the university, I am a student of the university, I am a student of the university, I am a student of the university, I am a student of the university.Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, Faculty of Literature, mtopuz@mku.edu.tr
