ESTHETIC RESTORATION OF MAXILLARY LATERAL INCISORS WITH ESTHETIC LOSS DUE TO VARIOUS REASONS: A CASE REPORT
INTRODUCTION: Aesthetic perception, previously considered a subjective concept, has now aligned with global standards due to the rise of communication and social media platforms. Anomalies such as dental trauma, congenital defects, and malformed dental morphology are commonly encountered in clinical practice. To address the aesthetic loss experienced due to various causes, aesthetic restorations were planned for four patients using different composite materials. The cases were followed for 12 months, and their compatibility with periodontal tissues was evaluated.CASE PRESENTATION: After completing a detailed clinical examination of patients presenting with aesthetic concerns, composite restoration was indicated. One week prior to initiating the aesthetic rehabilitation for the four cases, periodontal treatment was performed to ensure a healthy working field. Isolation was achieved using a rubber dam under local anesthesia. In the first case, the restoration of tooth #12 was necessary due to its malformed structure, while in the second case, a dark space caused by papillary loss necessitated restoration. In the third case, congenital malformation required intervention on tooth #12, and in the fourth case, tooth #12 was restored due to a peg lateral formation. DISCUSSION: The cases were followed up at 6 and 12 months. Positive outcomes were observed in maintaining aesthetic continuity. No pathology was identified during clinical control sessions or in radiographic evaluations. CONCLUSION/CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Composite resin restorations effectively address aesthetic deficiencies caused by various pathologies of lateral teeth in the anterior region, providing an aesthetically pleasing smile.
