Özet:
(AI):
The fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) index is a non-invasive score used to determine liver fibrosis. The present study is the first to aim at evaluating the predictive ability of FIB-4 for all-cause mortality in patients with non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS). It retrospectively analyzed a total of 154 patients (32.5 % female) who were diagnosed with NSTE-ACS. The patients were divided into two groups based on the values of the FIB-4 index scores: FIB-4 index <3.25 and group FIB-4 3.25. Over an average follow-up of 50.2±16.3 months, 18 patients (11.7%) experienced revascularisation, 23 patients (14.9 %) developed heart failure, 18 patients (11.7%) had acute kidney injury, 42 patients (27.3%) were rehospitalized, and 11 patients (7.1%) died. In the group FIB-4 score >3.25, the rates of heart failure and all-cause mortality were found to be significantly higher (p<0.05). Higher FIB-4 index were associated with increased risks of heart failure and all-cause mortality among NSTE-ACS patients. The findings underscore the potential of the FIB-4 index as a simple, noninvasive tool for risk stratification and to predict poor prognosis in patients with NSTEACS.
