The concept of protection is a concept that has continued from the day the human being existed to this day.The need for conservation of the historic environment, as close to the structure as sensitive to its surroundings, was first presented in 1931 in the carta del restaura and then first introduced in the Venetian Charter in 1964.In particular, the concept of protection, which evolved in the second quarter of the 19th century, argued that, in addition to the conservation of individual structures, the message from the past can be transmitted to the future in the process, the cultural change can be read and the surroundings containing historical continuity should be assessed as a whole.Historical surroundings, which are a concrete example of information transfer from the past to the future, are one of the most important components of the city identity.The historical, cultural, architectural and economic values of these fields are important in the transmission of this information to the future generation, which keeps the light of the past to the present.The historic environments that reflect the social and cultural values of the society, the architectural formations, the society, the social life, the culture, the natural structure, the streets, the streets and the architectural products, must be evaluated together.The new structure expected to be made to these areas is the preservation of the original identity in the historic surroundings and the added value to the area.Although there are different ideas about the new structure in the historical environment, it is expected that the structure is respected and belongs to the time in which it was built.The context is also an important criterion for design in the historical environment.It is necessary to make detailed analysis and research to be made and interpreted in order to be able to make the designs of that place.In the framework of the work, in the old town wood market, within the limits of the construction plan for protection, many historic structures and civil architecture works neighborhood of the newly built wood market modern museum has been addressed.The international protection documents have been scanned in the historic textures for how the new structure could be, and the structure has been analyzed in the context of the criteria created from these documents.
