LANGUAGE AND SENTIMENT ANALYSIS OF TURKISH NOVELS IN THE TANZIMAT ERA
This study aims to analyse the emotional tendencies and language changes in the novels of the period by analysing the language and emotions of the novels of the Tanzimat period. The novels subject to the analysis are Felatun Bey and Rakım Efendi, İntibah, Cezmi, Müşahedat, Sergüzeşt and Araba Sevdası. Through language analysis, the variety of words used in the works, the number and length of sentences, the number of phrases, the most commonly used words, the most commonly used phrases, the most frequently used pre-words of these phrases, and the words that are used together most frequently were determined. Sentiment analysis effectively reveals the authors' emotional states, reactions to social events, and individual feelings in literary works. Through the emotion dictionary used reveals which emotions dominate the works and how they are placed in the flow of the novels. In this context, the emotional analysis of the works of the Tanzimat period will enable the dominant emotions in the works to be revealed in a concrete and verifiable way.
