(AI):
This study meticulously explores the various types of Modern Instruction Technology (MIT) equipment that are presently being utilized in agriculture vocational courses at prominent higher education institutions in Nigeria. The population that was systematically selected for this research study was specifically drawn from two distinguished institutions, namely Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), which is situated in Bauchi, and the Federal College of Education Technical (FCET) Gombe, located in Gombe. To collect data, a quantitative survey was conducted among 370 students enrolled in agriculture education courses at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University and Federal College of Education Technical Gombe. The data that were obtained through this research endeavour were subjected to rigorous analysis using exploratory factor analysis alongside descriptive statistics to ensure robust findings. The findings of the study unequivocally indicate that the most prevalently utilized MIT equipment across both educational institutions comprises electronic whiteboards and projectors, which have emerged as essential tools in the instructional process. Conversely, other technological devices such as laptops, desktop computers, scanners, video cameras, and electronic tablets were noted to be employed with significantly less frequency in the agricultural education setting. These results underscore a pressing need for enhanced investment in MIT equipment as well as comprehensive training programs designed for instructors, aimed at facilitating a more effective integration of advanced technology into the agricultural vocational education curriculums that are offered in Nigeria. The study recommends increasing access to modern technology tools and adopting a learner centered approach to enhance agricultural education quality and prepare students for successful careers in the agricultural sector.
