In this study, the concepts of the nation, nation state, nationality and national state elements are discussed, and the relationship between the socio-cultural structure and the geopolitical is evaluated. The terms of nation state, nation and nationality are often used in the same sense, even characteristic in social sciences and history.Nationalism is creating nations.Nationalism, by choosing among many cultures that exist in history, turns them close to the whole. The concept of nationality comes from the concepts of state and nation.Geopolitical position means the place where a state is acquired in the world, and this also contains the characteristics of the influence of the particular position of many states. These are the climate of the states, the plant cover, the forms of the earth, the neighbors, the underground and on-ground wealth, the historical accumulation, the cultural structure, the economy, the proximity to the seas, the distance, etc.It is a concept that defines its political strategies in terms of characteristics. From the past to the present, we see the individual groups care about the geopolitical position of that place before they establish the place where they will live according to themselves, the state where they will form.Because the geopolitical position of a state is how well it is suitable to live, it is a great wealth in terms of possibilities, both in the individual and in the state.Changes at the universal level in the geopolitical position, which is not geographically independent, necessarily change the national and regional geopolitical and geographical position. Therefore, the decisions and activities taken in the political sense are also geographical elements and structures. As the geographical positions within the countries are important, this shows that the situation is also geopolitically and geostrategically open to external threats.Because of these circumstances, the national states form and guide their policies, cultures, military, economic and social structures, according to their geographical positions. The socio-cultural structure brings the meaning of the own culture of a society formed as a result of human interactions. The social and cultural structure of a state brings traces of the past and future of that state. It is therefore necessary to look at the socio-cultural structure of a country from the point of view of political relations without neglecting its historical history. In some countries around the world, many people have different ethnic origins, different religions and live together, while in some countries, by following a nationalist policy, they want only their own peoples to live in their countries. The underground and overground wealth that a country possesses has led to the fact that its geopolitical importance, such as its proximity to underground resources, has led to the attempt to be more occupied in the history of that country. The primary civilizations preferred places that were rich in land and water resources in order to maintain their lives because they were the resource of life agriculture. When we look to the present day, all of this has revealed that the real wealth of places that are rich in energy sources, underground wealth. The rapidly developing industry and the growing population have also influenced the political relations of the countries. The importance of oil and natural gas that has been exhausted over time has now been clearly revealed. Therefore, one of the major problems of industrialized and industrialized countries was the achievement of material and energy sources at more affordable prices.
