In 2014, drilling was carried out under the scientific consultancy of Prof. Dr. Ali Baş in order to prepare projects for conservation around the two existing structures in Keykubadiye Palace in Kayseri, one of the important cities of the Anatolian Seljuk period. After the application to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums in 2015, the Palace gained permanent excavation status under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ali Baş by the Decision of the Council of Ministers and excavations have started since then. In the drilling and excavations carried out between 2015 and 2019, portable cultural presence of almost all types and different characteristics, especially tile and ceramics, was encountered. These finds include figure-shaped tiles and ceramics depicting humans, animals and fantastic creatures. Glaze and luster techniques were used in the decorations in the figure tiles and under-glaze and scraping techniques were used in ceramics. Some of the figures show unique features, while others are similar to other works of the period. In this study, all figures depicted as winged in tiles and ceramics captured in the mentioned process were evaluated. Some of the specimens examined are double-headed eagles and fantastical creatures, while others include birds that exist in nature.
