Turks began to migrate to Anatolia, around 1040, and established small Prinicipalities in the areas where they settled. The Mengujek Principality was the earliest founded and the longest lived (1080-1252) among others. The Mengujed’s settled in Eastern Anatolia, in three branches as, Erzincan, Kemah and Divriği. This paper investigates the materials used for building and for ornament in Mausolea (Türbe) erected in Kemah and Divriği. ‘Continuity’ of the building traditions carried from the cultural centers where they lived earlier and ‘change’ with the impacts coming from the architectural tradition of their new land is discussed, with respect to building materials.
