It is accepted that the Gothic style, which is an artistic period showed up between the XIIth and XVth centuries in Europe, emerged during the repairs made in the church by Suger who is the abbot of Saint-Denis Monastery in Saint Denis Ile de France region. During the Crusades, with the recognition of the magnificent cities of the eastern countries and the desire to reach God, magnificent buildings began to be built. For this reason, a solution was found to the problem of living space analysis by using together the rib vault, pointed arch, and buttress system that existed in architecture before. Thus, the created Gothic style spread rapidly among the countries in a short time. It is known that the style, which found a wide application area in England, was preferred very often both its own period and the following centuries. In the XVIIIth century, attempts to revive the culture of Ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, which were considered to be ancestors, are seen in Europe. In parallel with this initiative, ancient order and facade systems in architecture have begun to be applied to modern buildings. In the XIXth century, the international understanding of Neoclassical architecture was not sufficient for the nationalist spirit of the countries and countries began to reapply the european architectural styles that they attributed to their own nation. One of these practices is the “Negothic”, which occurred in England with the revival of the Gothic style, which originated in France. It is stated by the researchers that the Gothic style has continued to be applied with admiration throughout history in England and it is undeniable that such a popular style is included in the XIXth century architectural formation. This style, which emerged from the scholastic philosophy of the Middle Ages, was applied in England in the XIXth century by interpreting it as a symbol of the purity of morality, the greatness of the English and devotion to religion. In this study, St. Luke’s Church building in Liverpool in the XIXth century was chosen as an example, and the building was introduced in terms of plan, architecture, decoration and materials. Through the stylistic evaluation of the church, the meaning of Neogothic architecture for the English was emphasized.
