In this study we will look at the design of the Meraga Künbed-i Kabud (Blue Kumbet) was built in 1197 in the Seljuks Era in Iran geography which became famous thanks to Lu and Steinhardt’s article on the subject in The Science in 2007, from a different perspective. The relationship between the five-fold geometric pattern on the Künbed-i Kabud, which is the subject of Lu and Steinhardt’s articles, and a unique five-fold geometric design on the Karatay Madrasa was built in 1251 in Anatolian Seljuks Era in Konya/Turkiye will be tried to be understood by discussing the anatomy of both designs. Although these designs are our starting point, the relationship of these designs with many other designs in the context of the structure constitutes the basis of the study. Künbed-i Kabud and Karatay madrasa designs contain different designs within themselves. When the analysis of both patterns is drawn with a compass-ruler construction and the systems behind them are trying to be understood, it becomes clear how they meet the basic level five-fold pattern. Analyzing the structure of designs constructed with the method based on Euclidean Geometry from different perspectives is important to understand the fecundity of designs and for this, it is necessary to recognize different methodologies. The combination of polygons, which are hidden in the structure of geometric design, to form decagon and pentagons offers the opportunity to create new designs. In our study, these design possibilities will be addressed and how the alternatives in both designs intersect at a common point will be discussed. In addition, the richness of the alternative designs behind both designs will be discussed in detail, and the study will be taken a step further and its relationship with the five-story double-level designs seen in the buildings built during the Turkmen dynasties in the Iranian geography and in the Topkapı Scroll will be revealed through technical expansions.
