Özet Şemseddin Kubat'ın şiirleri, sadece bir âşığın gönlünden geçenlerin dillendirme hâli değildir. O, Yoksul Derviş olmadan önce sığındığı mahcubiyet hücresinde yoğurup şekillendirdiği duygu dünyasını gün yüzüne çıkarırken, kendinden öncekileri ve kendinden sonrakilerini de tasavvur edip, nereden nereye, ne idik ne olacağız veya ne olmalıyız? Sorularını sorup cevap arayan, kendi idrakince cevap veren bir şahsiyettir. Âşık Yoksul Derviş, yaşadığı sosyal çevre, sosyal çevreden aldıklarıyla sarmalanan inanç dünyasının birikimiyle, daha iyi, daha yaşanılabilir bir dünyanın kurulabilmesi için gerekli temel unsurun insan olduğu düşüncesindedir. O'nun insan hakkındaki düşüncesi, içinde yaşadığı sosyal çevreninin de düşüncesidir. Onun idealize ettiği insan tipi Türk'tür. Türkçe konuşan, Türkçe düşünen, Türkçe duyan, Türkçe yaşayan ve Atatürk'çe temsil edilen insandır. Kur'an'ı rehber edinip Hz. Muhammed'in şefaatine sığınan, On İki İmam'ı takip eden, Hz. Ali'nin kahramanlığıyla kahramanlaşan, Mevlana gibi aşkta pişen, Karacaoğlan gibi aşka düşen, Hacı Bektaş gibi meşkte olan insan tasavvuruyla düşüncelerini ortaya koyan Âşık Yoksul Derviş, şiirlerinde işlediği isimlerin özelliklerini toplumun bilinçaltında olan bilgi dağarcığından aldığı malzeme ile yeniden şekillendirip okuyucuya/dinleyiciye ulaştırmıştır. Bildiride, Âşık Yoksul Derviş'in şiirlerinde ele aldığı konular içine serpiştirilmiş örnek insanlar ve bunların davranışlarıyla bir taraftan idealize insan anlayışı hakkında çıkarımlarda bulunulmuş, bir yandan da bu şahsiyetlerin isimlerinden hareketle toplumsal değer aktarımının yapıldığı tespit edilmiştir.
