Introduction to the globalized contemporary culture, although it has reached an enormous stage of development, is in an equally enormous settlement due to the mental shocks that societies suffer. The most obvious indicator that characterizes the dissolution is the exclusion of consumption-based life practices from socialism while apparently glorifying the individual.Bauman (2016) says that conflict is now not between classes, but between people and societies. In the process of humanity’s interaction with the digital mass culture characterized by screens, the numerical adaptation of the book and competition in the digital economy have an increasing importance. In the economic habitat shaped by the possibilities offered by the new media technologies of individuals defined as passive, misleading, and even open to deceit consumers in the criticism of the cultural industry, xx.It can be suggested that it has become more effective and awake individuals than the century.Today’s experience is that, thanks to new media technologies, the common needs perceived by individuals can be little modified but in essence developed sophisticated methods of meeting with products in certain standards. These methods cause both publishers and readers to experience confusion between the physical world of traditional media and the digital information world of new media.Regardless of the factors that trigger confusion, the transformation of the book as a mass and media consumption object into a digital economy product where popularity and quantity, as well as technology dominate, directly affects the reading culture. The current forms that the reading culture takes as a result of new communication practices have structural effects on the memory of modern people. In our study, the processes that generate these effects will be critically resolved and discussed the effects of the transformation of the reading action in the screen age on the modern human reading culture.“Ochurious societies, societies built on the written word, have developed a basic metafor to call the perceptive relationship between man and the universe: the world is a book that we must read.”Albert Manguel, the traveler, the tower and the bookmaker, said: “When the time looks at the curve drawn by the reading culture, it never turns down, it always turns forward and up.”Semih silver -modernism and postmodernism -this day and tomorrow of literature 7th congress of postgraduate studies in Turkey
