Investigation Of Problem Solving Skills And Decision Making Styles Of Students Studying In Higher Schools In Terms Of Some Variables (AI)
This study was conducted in order to identify the level of problem-solving skills and self-respect and decision-making styles of students studying at high schools and to reveal whether self-respect and decision-making styles differ according to demographic characteristics.To the purpose of the research, 460 students who studied in different high schools at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University, developed by Heppner and Peterson(1982) and their friends(1993), with the problem-solving inventory adapted to Turkish by Mann and others (1998) and developed by Melbourne decision making questionary and adapted to Turkish by Sea (2004) used the Melbourne decision scale i-ii scale.The study found that the level of problem-solving skills of the students involved in the study was =96,4771 and that the students had the ability to solve problems above the average level, taking into account the lowest and highest scale to be taken, and that the decision-making scores were high in self-respect and careful decision-making scores, the decision-making scores were high in retarding and panic decision-making scores and the decision-making scores were low in the middle.Students need problem-solving skills, but in their self-respect and decision-making styles, demographic characteristics do not make a meaningful difference in some, while some variables have a meaningful difference.Keywords:1 problem solving, decision making, high school
