Colors have played an important role in the formation of the visual identity of cities in historical processes. In addition to being important in both urban planning and architecture, colors have also had a significant impact on the formation and formalization of people's visual memory. In this context, the colors used in the architecture of cities have also reached the present day by passing through different evolutions over time. It is seen that the use of colors in architecture is also affected by cultural differences and geographical location. For example; while vibrant colors and symbolic patterns are preferred in Asia, it is noteworthy that simpler and more natural tones are preferred in Europe. Dark and dramatic color tones are at the forefront in the buildings built in the Gothic architectural style of European cities, while gold and white colors are at the forefront in Baroque architecture. In modern architecture, neutral colors such as gray, black and white are frequently used, while vibrant and bold colors are used in post-modern buildings. The city skyline is a combination of these colors. Paris's romantic and classical buildings, Tokyo's neon lights and dynamic color palette, Istanbul's historical texture and colorful bazaars and markets create the city's unique character and identity. In this paper, the importance and use of colors in the modern design of the architectural neighborhood of historical cities is investigated. The research is enriched with visuals.
